MOBILE, Ala. - An insurer has moved for summary judgment in an Alabama Chinese drywall coverage action arguing it owes no coverage for several lawsuits against a stevedoring company arising from its sale of salvaged, defective wallboard. American Home Assurance Co. v. Pensacola Stevedore Company Inc., et al., No. 10-305 (S.D. Ala.).
In its Sept. 21 motion filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, American Home Assurance Co. says that coverage for the underlying claims is barred by pollution and health hazard exclusions contained in policies it sold Pensacola Stevedore Co.
