Knauf, PSC Align to Fight Voluntary Dismissals of MDL Drywall Claims

NEW ORLEANS - The Chinese Drywall Plaintiffs Steering Committee has joined an effort by Knauf to challenge notices of voluntary dismissal filed recently by federal MDL claimants who now wish to have their cases heard in state court. Payton, et al. v. Knauf Gips KG, et al., No. 09-7628 (E.D. La.).

In an Aug. 10 response and joinder to Knauf's motion to strike the plaintiffs' dismissal attempts, the PSC questions the motive of plaintiffs' counsel in seeking the relief and requests that the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana retain jurisdiction over the cases.
