JACKSON, Miss. - A judge in Mississippi has ruled in favor of two insurers, finding no coverage under homeowners' policies for damage caused by Chinese drywall. Bishop v. Alfa Mutual Insurance Co., No. 10-49; Lopez v. Shelter Insurance Co., No. 10-55 (S.D. Miss.).
In separate opinions issued June 16, Judge Thomas S. Lee of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi held that insurers Alfa Mutual Insurance Co. and Shelter Insurance Co. were entitled to summary judgment in two cases based on exclusions in the policies.
