Insurer Argues Against Link Between MDL, Chinese Drywall Coverage Cases

FORT MYERS, Fla. - An insurer that filed several Chinese drywall coverage actions in Florida has filed a brief arguing that the consolidated cases are neither related to, nor would they benefit from coordination with, the product liability claims pending in MDL 2047. Mid-Continent Casualty Co. v. Oyster Bay Homes Inc., et al., No. 10-188 (M.D. Fla.).

Mid-Continent Casualty Co. filed the brief April 5 in response to a U.S. District for the Middle District of Florida Judge's request for information linking the coverage cases to the Drywall MDL in New Orleans.
