Taylor Morrison Says Pollution Policy Covers Post-Closing Drywall Losses

TAMPA, Fla. - Homebuilder Taylor Morrison has filed a motion for summary judgment in an insurance coverage action, arguing that a pollution liability policy it purchased from Chubb Custom Insurance Co. covers Chinese drywall-related losses arising from post-closing warranty work. Chubb Custom Insurance Co. v. Taylor Morrison Services Inc., et al., No. 10-CA-13015 (Fla. Cir. Ct., Hillsborough Cty.).

In a Feb. 4 motion filed in Hillsborough County Circuit Court, Taylor Morrison maintains that the Chubb policy unambiguously extends coverage to warranty operations performed after the homes were sold.
