NEW ORLEANS - A preliminary default has been entered against 28 defendants that failed to enter appearances in a Chinese drywall class action pending in the MDL. Gross, et al. v. Knauf Gips KG, et al., No. 09-6690 (E.D. La.)
The preliminary default was signed Feb. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, ordering entry of default against defendants that plaintiffs say have failed to plead or otherwise respond to the case.
Included in the putative class are landlords and owners of property throughout the United States whose residences were damaged by allegedly defective Chinese drywall. …
