Insurer to Appeal Order Applying Calif. Law to Fla. Drywall Case

MIAMI - An insurer has taken initial steps to appeal a recent ruling that California law applies to a coverage action against a developer sued for Chinese drywall installed in a Florida condominium project. American Home Assurance Co. v. Peninsula II Developers Inc., et al., No. 09-23691 (S.D. Fla.).

American Home Assurance Co. filed the motion Oct. 28 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, asking the court to vacate and reissue its ruling with a certification for immediate appeal.
