SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A South Dakota couple has filed a lawsuit alleging that the domestically produced drywall installed in their home as part of a remodeling project contained sulfur dioxide that made them ill and caused damage to their property. Gades v. United States Gypsum, et al., No. 10-4138 (D. S.D.).
In their Aug. 6 complaint filed in Davison County Circuit Court and recently removed to federal court, Brandon and Renae Gades accuse Sheetrock-brand drywall manufacturer United States Gypsum of misleading the public by telling them that problems with contaminated drywall are limited to products from China.
