NEW ORLEANS - Plaintiffs have asked the MDL judge who ordered Knauf Plasterboard (Tianjin) Co. and Taishan Gypsum Co. to pay for damage caused by defective drywall to impose bond requirements on the defendants while both appeal the rulings to the 5th Circuit. Hernandez v. Knauf Gips KG, et al., No. 09-6050; Germano, et al. v. Taishan Gypsum Co., et al., No. 09-6687 (E.D. La.).
In motions filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the plaintiffs contend that the Chinese companies have indicated that they will challenge efforts to collect judgments and costs on appeal.
