Taishan Gypsum Challenges Germano Plaintiffs' Fee Request

NEW ORLEANS - The Chinese drywall manufacturer that was ordered to pay $2.6 million to homeowners in Virginia has opposed a request by plaintiffs' counsel for approximately $900,000 in fees and costs related to the case. Germano, et al. v. Taishan Gypsum Co., Ltd., et al., No. 09-6687 (E.D. La.).

Taishan Gypsum Co. filed an opposition brief July 2 in U.S. District court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, arguing that the plaintiffs aren't entitled to any fees because they failed to serve Taishan with their second amended complaint and motion to intervene in the case.
