Drywall Counsel Seek More Than $1 Million in Fees for Germano Action

NEW ORLEANS - Counsel for intervening plaintiffs in a case that ended in a $2.6 million default judgment against a Chinese drywall manufacturer have filed a request for attorney's fees and costs of more than $1 million. Germano v. Taishan Gypsum Co., et al., No. 09-6687 (E.D. La.).
In a petition filed May 24 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the plaintiffs' lawyers state that the requested sum is "low by any standard," and represents compensation for more than 6,000 hours that attorneys spent on the case.
