Florida Suit Says Recycled U.S. Drywall Caused Damage to Home

MIAMI - A Florida couple has sued National Gypsum Co., alleging that the company manufactured drywall from recycled materials that emitted hazardous sulfur gases and caused damage after it was installed in their home. Worthington v. National Gypsum Co., No. 10-60779 (S.D. Fla.).
George and Adria Worthington allege in their May 12 lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida that the domestically made drywall is inherently defective as a result of the process National Gypsum utilizes to manufacture the product.
