Judge Rules on In Limine Motions as Drywall Bellwether Trial Begins

NEW ORLEANS - The judge presiding over the Chinese Drywall MDL and the docket's first trial involving property damage claims brought by a homeowner has issued several rulings on motions in limine that were filed ahead of the trial date. Hernandez v. Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin Co. Ltd., No. 09-6050 (E.D. La.).

Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Lousiana issued the order March 15, the same day that opening argument began in a case brought by St. Tammany Parish residents who allege that their home was damaged by defective drywall.
