Homebuilder Northstar Seeking Coverage for Drywall Claims in La.

NEW ORLEANS - A homebuilder sued for selling properties that contained allegedly defective drywall has brought a declaratory judgment action against several insurers seeking defense and indemnity in connection with the lawsuits. Northstar Holdings Inc., et al. v. General Fidelity Insurance Co., et al., No. 10-384 (E.D. La.).

Northstar Holdings and its related entities filed the complaint Feb. 12 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, where it says one of the underlying personal injury and damages lawsuits is pending against the Florida-based builder.
