JPML Rejects 2nd Effort to Include Insurance Actions in MDL 2047

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has again denied a motion to transfer an insurance coverage action to the Chinese Drywall products liability MDL in New Orleans. In re: Chinese Drywall Litigation, MDL No. 2047; Builders Mutual Insurance Co. v. Dragas Management Corp., et al., No. 09-185 (E.D. Va.).

The JPML issued the order Feb. 5, finding that the declaratory judgment action filed against a Virginia-based builder is not related to any action pending in the coordinated proceedings.
