COVINGTON, La. - A Louisiana state court judge has, for now, opted not to rule on a motion to certify a class of homebuilders and remodeling companies that used allegedly defective drywall supplied by Interior/Exterior Building Supply. Sunrise Construction and Development, et al. v. Interior/Exterior Building Supply, No. 200912196 (La. Dist. Ct., St. Tammany Prsh., 22nd Dist.).
In a Nov. 19 order, Judge William J. Crain of the St. Tammany Parish District Court continued the plaintiffs' motion for class certification to an unspecified date. Judge Crain also denied a motion by Interior/Exterior for dilatory exception of prematurity and vagueness.
