Steering Committee Urges MDL Transfer of Non-Chinese Drywall Case

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Plaintiffs Steering Committee in the federal Chinese Drywall MDL has filed a brief supporting the transfer of a case involving domestically manufactured drywall, despite efforts by all parties in the case to keep the matter in Florida. In re Chinese Drywall Litigation, MDL No. 2047 (JPML).

The brief was filed Nov. 2 with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, which has indicated it will weigh argument Nov. 19 on whether to approve a conditional transfer of the Florida class action lawsuit to the MDL proceedings in New Orleans.
