Lloyd's, Auto Club Family Insurance Sued Over Drywall Coverage

NEW ORLEANS - A class action lawsuit has been filed against Lloyd's of London and Auto Club Family Insurance Co. by Louisiana homeowners who accuse the companies of wrongfully denying their claims for damage caused by Chinese drywall. Amerson, et al. v. Lloyd's of London, et al., No. 09-7227 (E.D. La.).

The complaint, filed Nov. 6 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, says that Lloyd's and Auto Club have refused to tender proceeds for property damage caused by the allegedly defective drywall, which they say is covered under their homeowners' policies.
