NEW ORLEANS - A default judgment has been entered against Taishan Gypsum Co. after the Chinese company failed to respond to a class action brought by a developer accused of installing defective drywall in several homes throughout the Southeastern United States. The Mitchell Company Inc. v. Knauf Gips KG, et al., No. 09-1145 (E.D. La.).
An Entry of Default against Taishan Gypsum was filed Sept. 22 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, saying only that Taishan has failed to "plead or otherwise defend" the class action complaint.
