NEW ORLEANS - The federal judge overseeing the Chinese Drywall MDL has granted a motion by defendant homebuilders to create a separate steering committee to represent their interests in the litigation. In Re: Chinese-Manufactured Drywall Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2047 (E.D. La.).
Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said in an Aug. 11 Minute Entry that he has approved the request for the Homebuilders' Steering Committee.
