TAMPA, Fla. - A Florida couple has sued Teachers Insurance Co. after it denied a homeowners' claim for drywall-related damage the insurer says does not trigger coverage under the couple's policy. Walker v. Teachers Insurance Co., No. 09-17303 (Fla. Cir. Ct., Hillborough Cty.).
The suit was filed in Hillsborough County Circuit Court by Melissa and William Walker, who say they were forced to abandon their home because of physical injuries they suffered as a result of toxic and corrosive fumes emitted from the drywall.
