MIAMI - The judge overseeing a Florida class has requested international judicial assistance in serving a Taiwan-based company the plaintiffs say distributed defective drywall used to build their homes. Vickers, et al. v. Knauf GIPS KG, et al., No. 09-20510 (S.D. Fla.).
In a May 15 request filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Judge K. Michael Moore appeals to the "appropriate judicial authority of Taiwan" to effect service of process on Rothschilt International Limited based in Taipei, Taiwan.
