NORFOLK, Va. - Homeowners in Virginia have filed a statewide class action against a Chinese manufacturer, builder and local supply companies for damages sustained as a result of allegedly defective drywall used to build their homes. Germano, et al. v. Taishan Gypsum Co. Ltd., et al., No. 09-202 (E.D. Va.).
The complaint, filed May 1 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, also seeks certification of a subclass of residents whose development was outfitted with drywall they say are damaging the metal fixtures in their homes and making them sick.
