OCALA, Fla. - A class action complaint has been filed in Florida, seeking damages for property damage allegedly caused by defective drywall that was not imported from China. Swidler, et al. v. Georgia-Pacific Gypsum LLC, et al., No. 09-181 (M.D. Fla.).
The April 27 lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida contends that a chemical process that results in contamination of drywall manufactured by Georgia-Pacific Gypsum LLC and sold by 84 Lumber Co. is to blame for problems that have to date been linked to Chinese-manufactured products.
