NEW YORK - A New York federal magistrate judge has ordered TIG Insurance Co. to release 256 documents to AIU Insurance Co. in a $12.3 million action involving reinsurance coverage for Foster Wheeler asbestos claims. AIU Insurance Co. v. TIG Insurance Co., No. 07-CIV-7052 (S.D. N.Y.).
On Aug. 28, Magistrate Judge Henry Pitman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that the documents are not protected by the attorney-client or work-product doctrines.
