SAN DIEGO - A California federal judge has ordered Ramona Tire Inc.'s offshore captive to pay the rehabilitator of Frontier Insurance Co. $669,478 in workers' compensation reinsurance proceeds and prejudgment interest. Frontier Insurance Company in Rehabilitation v. Ramona Tire Inc., No. 3:07-00052 (S.D. Calif).
In a Sept. 24 order, Judge Marilyn L. Huff of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California granted California Insurance Superintendent Howard Mills' motion for a default judgment against Automotive Services Insurance Ltd. (ASIL).
