PHILADELPHIA - A reinsurance broker accused of causing a cedent to suffer more than $30 million in damages may not appeal the denial of its motion for summary judgment because the order does not involve "a controlling question of law," a Pennsylvania federal judge ruled on April 7. United National Insurance Co., et al. v. Aon Ltd., et al., No. 04-CV-539, E.D. Pa.).

Judge Louis H. Pollak of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania denied Aon Ltd.'s motion for leave to appeal, allowing the four-year-old case to proceed to a possible trial.
