NEW YORK - A New York federal judge has dismissed the last claim in a lawsuit brought against the Republic of Indonesia and its state-owned insurer for damages that allegedly resulted from a $55 million reinsurance fraud scam. Anglo-Iberia Underwriting Management Co. v. Lodderhose, No. 97-0084 (S.D. N.Y.).
Judge Donald C. Pogue of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that the negligent supervision claim pending against insurer P.T. Jamsostek is barred by the doctrine of sovereign immunity.
