Amended Scheduling Order Issued in Texas Federal Reinsurance Case




DALLAS — A Texas federal magistrate judge has amended a scheduling order in an action in which United States Fire Insurance Co. has disclaimed any obligation to contribute to an $8 million settlement of a class action filed against its cedent Unified Life Insurance Co.

In a Feb. 2 order, Magistrate Judge Rebecca Rutherford of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas ruled that expert disclosures are due on April 24 and close of discovery is May 2. She set the dispositive motion deadline for May 30.
