NEW YORK — The owner of a Manhattan shopping mall has sued Greenwich Insurance Co. in New York federal court in an effort to recoup $3 million in rental losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and related government stay-at-home orders.
In a complaint filed Oct. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Oct. 6, JEMB Realty Corp., which owns Herald Center, says it has sustained “physical loss or damage” to its insured property, triggering coverage under its policy’s provisions for business interruption and civil authority coverage.
