NEW YORK — The owners of two Manhattan dance studios has sued Sentinel Insurance Co., demanding coverage for business interruption losses it suffered when it was forced to close in compliance with government COVID-19 shutdown orders.
In a complaint removed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Oct. 9, Rhythm of Life Corp. d/b/a Broadway Dance and Broadway Dance West 65th LLC contends that as a result of the orders and the COVID-19 virus itself, their insured properties have suffered “direct physical loss and damage” triggering coverage under the policy.
