TRENTON, N.J. — The owners of several New Jersey daycares have sued Berkshire Hathaway Insurance Co. in an effort to recoup business interruption losses they experienced when they were forced to shut down or reduce operations at their facilities in compliance with government COVID-19 orders.
In an Oct. 7 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, plaintiffs contend they have sustained “direct physical loss of, and/or damage to” their insured premises, resulting in substantial loss of business income.
