FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A Florida chiropractic office has sued Mt. Hawley Insurance Co. for business interruption losses it sustained when it closed in compliance with government shutdown orders issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a complaint removed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Sept. 25, Perfect Options LLC says its policy covers loss of business income and extra expenses incurred when civil authority orders bar access to its insured premises as a direct result of a covered cause of loss to property in the immediate area.
