Pa. Italian Restaurant Says COVID-19 Business Interruption Losses Insured

PITTSBURGH — The owner of a Pennsylvania Italian restaurant that was forced to close its dining room during the COVID-19 pandemic has sued The Cincinnati Insurance Co. for coverage of business interruption losses.

In an Aug. 20 class action complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, 2 Tomato Inc. d/b/a II Tomato says government closure orders have caused it and other insureds to sustain “direct physical loss of or damage to covered property.”
