OKLAHOMA CITY — A reinsurer is seeking a ruling that it is not obligated to provide defense and indemnity to a telecommunications company and its employee for a 2016 deadly vehicle accident because the company did not provide timely notice to the ceding excess insurer.
In an Oct. 21 complaint filed in the U.S. District for the Western District of Oklahoma, Star Insurance Co. further maintains that coverage is void under the excess policy because the employee was driving the company vehicle without a license and while impaired.
