OMAHA, Neb. — The plaintiffs in a Nebraska federal case involving a workers’ compensation insurance program and accompanying reinsurance participation agreement have dropped their claims against Applied Underwriters Inc. and its captive reinsurer.

According to an Oct. 10 notice filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, the plaintiffs dismissed the action without prejudice.

Utah companies Alpine Building, LLC and Grove Creek LLC sued Applied Underwriters Inc. and its affiliates, Applied Underwriters Captive Risk Assurance Co. (AUCRA) and California Insurance Co., accusing them of violating state law in connection with their Applied Underwriters EquityComp workers’ compensation insurance program.
