DETROIT — A Michigan federal judge has issued a protective order in a reinsurance action, ruling that confidential proprietary or trade secret documents and certain information about insureds, including health in connection with purported exposure to asbestos, should not be publicly disclosed.

In an April 1 order, Judge Stephen J. Murphy III of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan explained that discovery may involve the production of such documents, which “are sensitive, confidential, and should not be subject to public disclosure.”
