Jury Trial Scheduled in N.Y Federal Reinsurance Case Involving Goulds Asbestos Claims

UTICA, N.Y. — A New York federal judge has scheduled a jury trial in a dispute over whether Century Indemnity Co. breached two reinsurance certificates by refusing to pay costs incurred by Utica Mutual Insurance Co. in defending underlying asbestos exposure lawsuits.

Judge David Hurd of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York said trial will begin on Sept. 16. He directed the parties to file their pretrial submissions by Aug. 16.
