March Mediation Scheduled in $976,641 Reinsurance Dispute Against Munich Re

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A mediation conference has been scheduled in an action in which a Florida risk management pool alleges Munich Reinsurance America Inc. must contribute toward a $750,000 settlement of a lawsuit brought against a Florida city.

According to a Jan. 1 notice filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the mediation conference is set for March 13 before mediator John S. Freud.

PRM is a self-insured intergovernmental risk management pool. Munich reinsured PRM and its members, including the City of St. Pete Beach, under a Multiple Line Excess of Loss Reinsurance treaty.
