Calif. Federal Judge Orders Defendant in Odyssey Re Case to Appear in Court

SAN DIEGO — In a case in which Odyssey Reinsurance Co. seeks payment of a $3.2 million judgment, a California federal judge has ordered defendant Diane Nagby to explain why she should not be held in contempt of court for failing to deposit $184,001 into the court registry.

On Aug. 8, Judge Barry Moskowitz U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California also ordered Nagby to produce documents relating to Odyssey’s motion to bar her from disbursing funds held in certain bank accounts and from liquidating her interest in certain real estate investment trusts.
