NEW YORK — Two insurers seek to challenge a New York federal judge’s order requiring them to arbitrate their lawsuit accusing the principals of Beechwood Re of mishandling reinsurance trust assets, arguing the ruling conflicts with other courts in the district.
In a June 4 filing in support of their motion to certify an interlocutory appeal, the insurers maintain that the March 14 ruling by Judge Edgardo Ramos of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York was in error because it requires them to arbitrate with non-signatories to the reinsurance agreements at issue.
