Defendants in $3.2 Million Reinsurance Case Ordered to Comply with Discovery Requests

SAN DIEGO — A California federal magistrate judge has ordered the defendants in an action in which Odyssey Re seeks satisfaction of a $3.2 million judgment to produce financial records, tax returns, and certain electronic communications.

In a June 4 order, Judge William V. Gallo of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California also ordered defendant Richard Nagby to appear for a rescheduled deposition.

Cal-Regent Insurance Services Corp. underwrote certain risks on behalf of State National Insurance Co. Odyssey Re reinsured State National under four Garage Liability Quota Share Reinsurance Agreements, which were in effect from 2002 …
