Conn. Federal Judge Consolidates Applied Underwriters Workers’ Comp Cases




BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - A Connecticut federal judge has consolidated two actions arising from a dispute over whether a workers’ compensation policyholder breached an reinsurance participation agreement by failing to pay additional premiums.

In an April 20 docket text, Judge Stefan R. Underhill of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut merged a Nebraska action filed by Applied Underwriters Captive Risk Assurance Co. (AUCRA) against Charter Oak Oil Inc. with a pending Connecticut action filed by Charter Oak against AUCRA.
