Arbitration Hearing in $3.85 Million Workers’ Comp Case Set for August

NEW YORK — An arbitration hearing in a $3.85 million reinsurance dispute involving underlying workers’ compensation losses is set to take place on Aug. 13 in New York, according to the parties’ joint status report.
National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh and Federal Insurance Co. filed their report on Dec. 18 pursuant to a directive by Judge Valerie Caproni of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
National Union submitted four workers’ compensation claims totaling $3,853,714.28 to Federal Insurance Co. for payment under certain reinsurance contracts. Federal, however, refused to pay the billing.
