Discovery Deadline Extended in Applied Underwriters’ Workers’ Compensation Dispute

OMAHA, Neb. — A Nebraska federal magistrate judge has extended the discovery deadline by one month in a dispute over whether Top’s Personnel Inc. owes Applied Underwriters Inc. $152,616.35 pursuant to a reinsurance participation agreement.
In a Nov. 30 order, Judge Cheryl R. Zwart of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska extended the deadline from Dec. 3 to Jan. 2. The judge further held that Top’s has until Jan. 16 to amend its answer and allege counterclaims. The deadline for filing motions for summary judgment is Feb. 2.
