ATLANTA — A Georgia federal judge has ordered Canal Insurance Co. to produce certain information regarding reinsurance claims it submitted to Golden Isles Reinsurance Co. in a dispute in which Canal accuses Golden Isles of liquidating its assets to avoid paying the claims.

On Oct. 6, Judge Leigh Martin May of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia ordered Canal to produce the check registers for claims that contain information regarding settlement agreements, explaining that it can verify the amount Canal paid on the claim.
