ATLANTA — A Georgia federal judge has granted the parties’ request for a 12-week discovery extension in a dispute in which Golden Isles is accused of liquidating its assets to avoid paying reinsurance proceeds to Canal Insurance Co.
On Aug. 24, Judge Leigh Martin May of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia granted the joint motion, in which the parties asserted that “in light of the discovery that remains to be completed and the scheduling conflicts identified,” a 12-week extension is appropriate.
Absent an extension, the discovery period would have expired on Aug. 24.
