NEW YORK — A defendant in an action accusing a reinsurer’s principals of mishandling reinsurance trust assets is urging a New York federal judge to send the matter to arbitration, arguing that the claims mirror those that are already the subject of a pending arbitration.
In a June 11 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Scott Taylor argued that while the defendants are not personally parties to the reinsurance agreements that contain the arbitration provisions, “the claims are intimately founded in and intertwined with” the reinsurance agreements.
