R&Q Urges Pa. Federal Judge to Order St. Paul to Produce Reserves, Reinsurance Information

PHILADELPHIA — R&Q Reinsurance Co. is urging a Pennsylvania federal judge to deny St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co.’s request for a protective order in a $4.4 million reinsurance dispute, arguing that St. Paul should be required to produce its reserves and reinsurance information.

In a June 29 opposition filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, R&Q says the information “is both relevant and discoverable” and that St. Paul has not met its burden of demonstrating good cause for the issuance of a protective order.
