Tryg Opposes Liquidator’s Request to Assert Additional Claim of $362,788 in Reinsurance Action

NEW YORK — In a dispute over reinsurance proceeds allegedly owed to the estate of The Home Insurance Co., reinsurer Tryg Forsikring A/S is urging a New York federal judge to deny a request by the liquidator to amend the complaint to assert additional claims for $362,787.84.

In a June 2 letter filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Tryg maintains that the new claims are not ripe because they assume determination of an issue that has not yet been decided and will only add delay and expense to the action.
